2011 Gurkha Open International Championship Silver medallist (poomsae) Andy Barrett

Andy, a two time British Poomsae Champion in the Kup grade divisions, made an impressive first outing in the Black Belt division, when he made a creditable 4th place at the 2007 National Championships in Liverpool. Up against a team of experienced opponents, including eventual winner Stephane Roth (2007 European Bronze medallist), his performance was hailed by clubmates.

At the 'UTA Open Poomsae Championships' (10th May 2009), Andy collected Bronze in an Internationally contested field, to make up, in part, for the disappointment of just missing the final of the BTCB National Championships earlier in the year.

Andy is assistant instructor to wife Jane, at her club in Hillingdon (see class pictures below).
